Nikon in space

1991

In 1991 NASA sent a Nikon F3 with a Kodak digital back into space with the astronauts. The DSLR camera worked in space and thanks to the digital back the astronauts did not have to wait to get back to earth to see the images.

Epson PhotoPC

1995

The Epson PhotoPC was the first color digital camera developed by Sanyo. it could store 16 jpeg images for up to a year without power. It did not have a viewer so you had to upload the images to a computer to see them.

RealPlayer

First major webcast

Victoria secret fashion show was the first major webcast on the internet attracting over 1.5 million visitors however the amount of traffic it got made some people unable to view it.

Y2K

The idea behind Y2K was that "date stamps in most pervasive written software only used two digits to represent year information..." so the fear was that the computers would not know 1900 from 2000.
