13 colonies were founded from 1602 to 1732. Virginia, Georgia, South and North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Deleware, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Maryland, Massachussettes, New Hampshire.

In 1607 a group of English men set out on a voyage to find a water roue to the Indies. They came upon a new land, the Americas. They landed in what is now modern day Virginia. They established a settlement and became partners with the indians.

In 1620 the Mayflower set out for America with 102 passengers on board. They settled the colony Plymouth in Massachusetts. This was one of the 13 colonies.

The Articles of Confederation and Perpetual Union was the first constitution of the United States. After more than a year of consideration, it was submitted to the states for ratification in 1777, but not enough states approved it until 1781.
