  • Netherlands Discovery

    Christian Huygens discovered Saturn's rings and Titan.

  • Netherlands and Mars

    Huygens noticed markings on Mars

  • Cassini Division

    Cassini discovers that Saturn's rings are split into 2 parts, and now the split is called "Cassini Division".

  • Hershel Discovery

    In England, Hershel discovered the planet Uranus.

  • Asaph Hall

    Asaph Hall discovered the moons of Mars, Phobos and Deimos.

  • Galaxies Exist

    In the USA, Hubble shows that galaxies exist outside of the Milkyway Galaxy.

    Sputnik was the first object to orbit Earth, it was launched into space by the Russians.
