Day 1
Our plane has crashed in the Simpson Desert in Australia. We made shelter using four broom sticks and canvas tarp. We notice the land is mostly flat plains covered in dirt with some hills. -

Day 2
We decided to travel at night, so we have started a 15 mile hike around 8:30 p.m.We are traveling S/SE to Innaminka. -
Day 3
Last night we killed an antelope and are preparing it today. We are resting and when night comes we will hike a total of 5 miles. -
Day 4
We spend the evening laying around. We are hiking 10 miles tonight. The antelope meat is already cut up. We lost our canvas tarp so we have to sleep on a pallet of extra pants and shirts. -
Day 5
We have to do 5 miles tonight.We are eating the meat and we each have had a cup of water. The meat was cooked over a fire we made using broom stick pieces, 4 newspapers, crisco and a lighter. -
Day 6
We have switched our schedule up from night to day because Brooke was afraid of getting attacked by animals. We will hike in the daytime now. 10 miles will be hiked.We eat our usual breakfast: antelope meat and water. Our hatchet handle broke so we have to be careful when using the blade. We played by tossing the antelope head around. -
Day 7
We set out on our 10 mile hike. We are going by our usual schedule. We had to go over a big sandy hill. While we were doing that a meteorite crashed some feet away from us. Tristen peed his pants and had to change to let them dry. -
Day 8
We have 50 miles left and are doing 10 miles this morning. Brooke and Kadijah are bit by Malaria infected mosquitoes. A tube of toothpaste that Tristen had was spread over the bites to calm the itching. We saw tire tracks and it looked to be in the direction we were going, so we decided to follow them. -
Day 9
We are preparing for our 10 mile hike when we heard antelope playing. We snuck up on them and Brycen was able to kill one which was a baby.Brooke's foot sunk in the sand while walking back to camp which caused her to fall onto a cactus pile.She cried as she looked at the thorns in her arm. We helped pick them out. -
Day 10
The antelope is being skinned and cut.After we ate and drunk, we set out on our 15 mile hike. Another meteorite crashed, but this time far away from us. -
Day 11
We used this day to rest fully. We are going to save up our energy since we are almost there. -
Day 12
We have 10 miles to go until we reach the town. We do our usual routine and excitedly hiked the last few miles. -
Day 13
We have reached Innaminka and it is a small, dry town.We were taken to a hospital where we were treated and checked out for any infections. We are very eager to get back to North Carolina.
