    The first time the Olympics were held in America took place from August 29 to September 3, 1904. They took place in St. Louis, Missouri.

  • 1st Cancelled Games

    The first cancelled games were planned to be held in Berlin, Germany. They were cancelled due to World War I

  • 2nd Cancelled Games

    The 2nd games that were cancelled were planned to take place in Tokyo, Japan. It was cancelled because of World War II.

    The 3rd cancelled summer Olympiad was planned to take place in London, United Kingdom. They were also cancelled due to World War II

  • 1992 Olympic Games

    The 1992 Olympic Games were held from July 25 to August 9 in Barcelona, Spain. Professional athletes were allowed to compete after a 96-year ban. The NBA All-Stars known as the "Dream Team" won gold easily.

  • 1996 Olympic Games

    The 1996 Olympic games were held in Atlanta, Georgia from July 19 to August 4, 1996. Centennial Olympic Park was attacked with a terrorist's bomb, killing one woman and injuring 111 other people.

    The 2000 games were held from September 15 to October 1, 2000 in Sydney, Australia. A new record of participating athletes was set at 10,651 from 199 nations.

  • 2004 Olympic games

    The 2004 games were held in Athens, Greece from August 13 to 29, 2004. Michael Phelps tied the Olympic record by winning eight medals, six of them were gold.

  • 2008 Summer Olympic Games

    The 2008 games were held in Beijing, China and held from August 8 to 24, 2008. About 3500 children were born on the opening ceremony and named Aoyun or Olympics.

  • 2012 Olympic Games

    The 2012 Olympic Games took place in London, United Kingdom from July 27 to August 12, 2012. Competitors were drug tested to detect cheating and even winning athletes were tested.

  • 2016 Summer Olympics

    The most recent summer Olympics were held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and were held from August 5 to 21, 2016. They're the first Olympics to take place in a South American country.
