In 1980, Shawn Stussy started the brand Stussy. Originally a surfboard manufacturer, Shawn began to put his signature on his surfboards with a broad tip marker. He made this his logo and began to put the logo on shirts, pants, and hats. -
Stussy gets a partner
In 1984, Shawn Stussy partnered up with Frank Sinatra Jr. (no relation to singer). The two opened their own shop and no longer sold the products out of their van. -
Stussy Expands
In 1984, Stussy expanded and opened a store in Europe. -
