It shouldn't damage your hair to a point where your hair is falling out. You can only lose your hair if your using a hair straightner, and it gets caught while straighting your hair. -

Any type of straightner can curl hair but its only possible if your hair is shoulder length. Some straightners curl your hair and last for about 3 days. There really expessive, but works. It doesn't fry your hair either. It's a steam straightner. And it works really good! -

You heat the straightner up, set it to however you think you should set it too. brush your hair, make sure your hair is nice and smooth, than when the straightners hot enough, began taking sections of your hair and straighting it piece by piece.... -
Curling your hair with a hair straightner...
You make sure the hair straightner is hot enough.. Than began taking a section of your hair starting from the top and start tearning the straightner, running down a piece of hair, and curl it by tearning it.. Than it should be curled like the picture... -
Instyler...
Now, they have a "Instyler"... It's kind of the same thing, you heat it up. You use sprays anything you want to use to protect your hair before putting heat on your hair... And than it has a brush conected too it.. Now the instyler can curl your hair personally.. It rotates.. And it come way more in handy than a straightner.. -

A curling iron, is only helping for when you want to just curl your hair.. Theres all kinds of different curling irons out there if you want to use a specific one... You grab a section of your hair and roll it, going down that piece of your hair, than you should have curly hair...
