Convention held in San Felipe when representatives met to discuss issues; they appointed SFA as their leader. -
Anahuac Disturbances
Captain Bradburn abuses his power and imprisons two men here. People begin to think of opposing Bradburn. Captain Juan Davis Bradburn – A man born in the U.S. who became a Mexican citizen and Mexican army Captain. He pushed the settlers around. -
Convention of 1833
Texan representatives asked for: 1. better mail service 2. better defense against natives 3. reform of courts and 4. right to use English in business and law. Also wrote a constitution for Texas. -
Santa Anna Elacted President
Santa Anna – The leader of the Federalists in the Mexican Government. Settlers pledged their loyalty to him until he declared himself dictator. -
Elimination of Mexican Legislature
Santa Anna eliminates the Mexican Legislature, the govermental body that makes laws. -
