The French and Indian War
The French refused to move from the British territiory and this started the war. Later, George Washington surrendered. After the war has began, the indians began to participate in the war on the French side, due to trading purposes. But they also was on the British side, but it wasnt as common to see. -
Mercantilism Theory
This is a theory that was made to help people gain wealth by adding gold, silver and other expensive things to the things that they trade because they are extremely valuable. This contributed the the American revolution because it helped the colonies grow enough to gain power for their independence. -
Salutary Neglect
The British said that if they remain economically loyal to them, then they wont enforce as may rules. This was important for the American Revolution because it made the colonists angry enough to want to gain their independence because they werent being supported. -
Proclamation of 1763
The Proclamation of 1763 was a law that colonies couldnt pass west of the Appalachian Mountains, to avoid conflict with the Native Americans. -
The Stamp Act of 1765
This act was made by the English Parliment to tax the American colonists on many different printed materials. -
The Quartering Act
The English Parliment passed this act in 1765. This act means that if a soldier needs to stay in a town, the colonist in the town have to let them stay in their house. If the colonists didnt have room in their house then they would have to give up their shed or places they keep their wine to house soldiers. -

This was a group of people who met in NYC to make a decision on what they want to do about the American colonist losing their rights to things. -
The Declaratory Act of 1766
This act was declared by the English Parliment, and it said that they taxed the colonies just as much Britain. -
The Townshend Acts of 1767
This act was passed by the English Parliment, and told the American colonies that they were going to be taxed on glass, paper, paint, lead, and tea to pay for the debts that Britain had like for the salaries of judges, American war expences ,and many other things. -
The Boston Massacre
This event happened when a group of people in Boston were protesting and British troops were there and shot into the crowd and killed 5 colonists. -
The Tea Act of 1773
The English Parliment gave the British East India Company complete control on profits that come from tea. -

Colonists were very angry with the British because they were taxing them for tea, so they desided to dress up like the Native Americans and dump tons of tea in the Boston Harbor. -

The English Parliment was very angry with the American colonies because of the Boston Tea Party, so they made an act that allows them to punish the colonies and tax them even more. -
First continental congress
This was a group of men that were from 12 of the American colonies that met in Philidelphia to disscuss many issues that went on during that time period. -
Battles of Lexington and Concord
This battle started the American Revolution. The American colonies was really starting to resent the British Authorities. One day the British was coming towards Concord and Paul Revere warned the colonies. The colonist prepared to suprise the British by stopping them in Lexington, then started their battle. -

This group of men were responcible for writing the Declaration of Independence during the Revolutionary war. -
Thomas Paine's Common Sense
Thomas Paine made a pamplet called "Common Sense". In this pamplet, he stated his opinion on America and how the American Colonies should gain their independence. -

This was when the Colonies officially unattatched themselves from the British Empire. On July 4th, 1776, the American colonies became their own states and gained their independence. -
