    Create Vision
    Digital Natives & Digital ImmigrantsDiscuss with school community, including students, teachers, staff, local businesses, parents, the vision for learning at Standard Elementary. Ask the question where do we want to be in 5 years? Take an inventory of teacher readiness to teach Digital Natives. Determine how much training/modeling/professional development is needed to move Digital Immigrants along.

    Continuous Digital Professional Development

    With each technology initiative, teachers will be trained to utilize new digital tools and resources. Teachers with more experience will be trained as leaders to assist others with increasing their technology skills. This will be a constant process and protocol for new technologies.

    Teacher Readiness Scope

    Using a survey device, review data from teaching staff on their readiness with technology. Create a scope and sequence for professional development to scaffold the learning of staff. This may include various types and levels of training depending on the results of data accumulated.
  • 1:1 All the Way

    1:1 All the Way
    All students required to take the SBAC will have access to a 1:1 device. Learning the tools of the device will come through explicit direction as well as integration of subject learning objectives.
  • Staff to CUE

    Teachers and administrators will attend the Spring CUE conference.
  • Primary Integration

    Primary classes will recieve touch screen tablet devices and teachers will recieve professional development on tools to utilize with their students that enhance student learning goals.
  • Fall CUE

    Teachers and administration will attend Fall CUE.

    Teachers and administrators will attend Spring CUE conference.
  • Classroom Landscape

    Classroom Landscape
    As teachers and students have become accustomed to the new methods of collaboration and instruciton, it will be essential to "rethink" the physical layout of the classrooms. Tables instead of desks and various classroom layouts depending on the learning goal. Technology devices will be wireless and portable to allow students to move as needed.

  • Learning Lab

    Learning Lab
    A classroom space will be converted into an interactive learning lab. This space will include several interactive throw-projectors with computer work stations for students to directly interact with the digital content. Students will be able to manipulate the information in a non-linear fashion to access information and further reasearch and learning. High mobility between learning spaces for collaboration.
  • Sharing our World

    Sharing our World
    Successful and effective teachers will create professional development to share with other our own and other school districts. Collaboration will allow teachers to refine instructional practices and resources for learning. Teachers will continue to create learning activities that highly engage students and families.

    2020 is here!
    This is year 2020. Technology is the means by which we deliver instruction, collaborate and receive project based learning and assessments from students. Digital communication between home and school is seamless. Students use technology and digital resources to access learning activities on a daily basis. Students are coding and creating their own programs to explain their thinking and enhance learning. What will the next 5 years hold? What will we look like in 2025?
