    The Royal Proclamation of 1763
    The Royal Proclamation Of 1763 was a proclamation that declared that the boundaries of the inhabitants on the colonies was the Appalachians. While the solution seemed simple to the British but the colonies thought different. The colonies had fought against them to win not to give them land. The colonists ignored the proclamation and continued on with their expansion Westward.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The Sugar Act was an act that placed taxes on sugar and molasses. The colonists didn't like this one bit and boycotted British goods. The British parliament finally repealed it afterwards because of the effect of the boycott.
  • Townshend Acts

    Townshend Acts
    The Townshend Acts levied import duties on glass, paint, paper, and tea. This like the Sugar and Stamp Acts were met with boycotts and was eventually repealed.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The Stamp Act was an act passed by the British Government that angered the Colonists. The Stamp Act was an at saying that all legal documents, newspapers, dice, playing cards,etc. had to be put on the special stamped paper or they wouldn't be seen as legal in court. The colonists started to boycott British goods and after awhile they repealed the Stamp Act.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act
    The Declaratory act proclaimed Parliament's ability "to bind the colonies in all cases whatsoever". The British were making it as clear as possible that it had the right to legislate the 13 colonies. The Colonies while relieved by the recent repeal of the stamp act felt threatened by the Declaratory Act.
