    The Lutheran branch of Christianity was founded in 1517 by Martin Luther. They split from the Roman Catholic Church due to different beliefs and practices.

    Anglican

    The Anglican branch of Christianity was founded in 1534 by Henry VIII. They split from the Roman Catholic Church when the Pope refused to grant the king an annulment.

  • Baptists

    The Baptists branch of Christianity was founded in 1609 by John Smyth. They split from the Church of England as they believed that only true believers in Jesus should be baptized.

  • Presbyterians

    The Presbyterian branch of Christianity was founded in 1703 by John Calvin and John Knox. They split from the Roman Catholic Church due to different democratic and council rules.

  • Salvation Army

    The Salvation Army was a branch of Protestant Christianity. It was founded on 2 July 1865 by William and Catherine Booth. They didn't split from other churches or branches instead they formed themselves.

  • Methodists

    The Methodists branch of Christianity was founded on the 23rd of April 1968 by John and Charles Wesley. They split from the Church of England because they had different views on the powers of preachers and the timing of chapel services.

  • Uniting

    The Uniting branch of Christianity was formed in 1977. T wasn't a split of churches instead it was 3 churches combining. The union was made of the Congregational Union of Australia, the Methodist Church and the Presbyterian Church. They did this because they wanted greater unity within the churches.
