    Calgary Broncos win the Western Canada Baseball League
    In 1910, the Calgary Broncos won the Western Canada Baseball League against the Edmonton Eskimos (AtP). Although the score is unknown, it took a long time to find a winner, so both teams were pronounced as co-winners (AtP). After debating, the Broncos were pronounced as the sole winners of the league (AtP). The Calgary Broncos had a great lineup which included five ex-Major League players (AtP).   • NHL was formed

    NHL was formed
    The National Hockey League was formed in Montreal on November 26, 1917 (Marshall). When it was formed, 5 teams were added: the Montreal Canadiens, the Montreal Wanderers, the Ottawa Senators, the Toronto Arenas and Québec City, but they decided not to participate in that season (Marshall). American teams joined and the first one was the Boston Bruins in 1924 (Marshall). At the time the Stanley Cup was a part of an inter-league playoffs and the NHL was always in contempt for it (Marshall).

    Earl Thompson competed in many different Track events and won most of them. He had won AAU events in 1918, 1921, and 1922 (Butts). He even participated in his first NCAA event in 1920 and also won (Butts). His most notable accomplishment was in 1919 when he first set the hurdle record in 14.4 seconds (Butts). He even broke that record in 1920 and then broke that one in 1921 (Butts).

    Even without Canadian citizenship, Albert Schneider still competed in the 1920 Olympic games (Can. Olympics). He went through tough opponents like Joe Thomas, Aage Steen, and Fred Kolberg (Can. Olympics). To win the gold medal, he defeated Alex Ireland, of Great Britain, in extra rounds (Can. Olympics). After seeing his own success he decided to go pro (Can. Olympics). He finished off his pro career with a record of 18-23-2 (Can. Olympics).

    In the 1921 Grey Cup Game, the Toronto Argonauts beat the Edmonton Eskimos 23-0 (Grey Cup). Although they lost, Edmonton was the first Western team in the finals (Grey Cup). Edmonton’s loss came from their American players who couldn’t understand the different rules in Canadian Football (Grey Cup). The main player for Toronto was Lionel Conacher, who scored 15 points (Grey Cup). Lionel had to leave early because he needed to go play hockey with his club, Toronto Aura Lee (Grey Cup).

    Foster Hewiit decided to switch at his job as a sportswriter to become a radio personnel (West). After switching jobs, he made history as he announced the first hockey game over radio (West). The game was between Toronto Parkdale and Kitchener and he made the broadcast off of an upright telephone (West). Then when Toronto Gardens opened up, he became their first broadcaster (West). When games became televised in the 50s, he starred in Hockey Night in Canada (West).

    In the 1928 Olympics, it was the first Olympics where women could compete (de Bruin). Bobbie Rosenfeld was one of the best Canadian runners that was there and she excelled. She had two different events on the same day and made it to the podium on both (de Bruin). Her hardest race yet was the 100m. When it had started, she had fallen to the back and excelled to the front (de Bruin). She tied for second and after looking over, the medal was given to the American (de Bruin).

    The Boston Bruins in 1929 were as dominant as they are today. They finished the season off with a 11-7-4 record and even won the American Division title (NHL). From there, they kept the pace going and beat the Montreal Canadiens 3-0 in the Semi Finals (NHL). In the finals, they easily defeated the New York Rangers, 2-0, for their first Stanley Cup as a franchise (NHL). It was only their fourth year as a team and they had won it all (NHL).
