    Athlete 2-inflammation stage
This is pendulum excersises used on the shoulder to help inflammation, but an alternate excersise for this would be to do shoulder rolls or shrugs which will help as it is less likely to cause pain due to the simpleness and the tecnique of these excersises. These exercises are good as they arnt too strenous but they are specific to the area of the injury which helps it to heal better and possibly faster as its working directly on the pain which is crucial in order to move onto the next stage.

  • Athlete 2- repair stage

    Athlete 2- repair stage
for the repair stage isometric and resisted excersises takes place here, but for an alternate excersise you could do lateral raises with weights or shoulder press in order to make sure that you are still working with your upper body put so you dont put too much strain on your healing shoulder in case it was to dislocate again.

The exercises i used in this stage of rehabilitation are stretching exercises where the ankle is relaxed and stretched so no pressure has been put on the ankle as its weak and could get injuried again. Alternate exercises to these exercises would be dynamic stretches where a little more pressure is on the ankle so it increases the speed of the rehab process making it easier for you to progress to the next stage.

these exercises are the resistance band plantaflexions exercises and these help with the strengthening stage of rehabilitation for Achillies tendonitis. Some alternate exercises for this stage would involve jogging and walking where as you take a step with your back foot you would lift on to your tip toes so the range of movement in the ankle can move more freely in order for the ankle to get stronger from the pressure by the force used when having your whole body weight on your ankle.
  • Athlete 2- remodelling stage

    Athlete 2- remodelling stage
for this stage the excersises used was shoulder excersises recovery to help the athlete on the last stages before fully recovery. Alternate excersises to these excersises are doing small drills on your upper body which involves your sport such as football drills where as a goalkeeper you could throw the ball in order to get use to the amount of pressure applied on your shoulder so you can tell if its too much or not enough pressure on the shoulder so you might decrease or move on a stage.

The exercises i did on this stage are the Achillies tendonitis sport specific drills, once these sport specific drills are completed the athlete might want to start specific training again, so they will need to make sure that they are ready for the pressure and intensity that is going to be put on the achillies, and to make sure that they are not doing training full time as they dont want to over use of out strain their ankle in case it gets worsewhich will move them down a stage.
  • Athlete 1- fully recovered

    Athlete 1- fully recovered
by at least 2 months the Achillies tendonitis should be functioning at its full capacity if the exercises and time spent on exercises are done correctly. At this stage you will be able to use your feet under some pressure in your sport such as jumping up for a header, as long as you do not over use the ankle as it already has enough pressure and has weakened due to the injury so has more chance of becoming re-injured causing you to be out of sport for a longer time period.

    Athlete 2- fully recovered
By at least 3 weeks you should be back to full health if you have completed the exercises correctly and spent a lot of time doing the exercises to speed up rehabilitation. By at least 3 months you can then take part in your sport at full contact by you must still be cautious of your shoulder as it is now weaker and has twice as much chance as being injured again, there for leading to more rehabilitation and more time out of sport.
