Soccer in 1863
As part of the history of soccer, the first set of rules for the world famous game was constructed last 1863 by the London Football Association. In 1872, Soccer became the major sport of Scotland and England. In 1885, the ideals of professionalism in Soccer was introduced. -

It is recorded that the first intercollegiate football game was held at New Brunswick on Nov. 6, 1869 between Rutgers and Princeton and that Rutgers won 6-4. -
FIFA 1930
FIFA President Jules Rimet's dream was realised as Uruguay hosted the inauguralFIFA World Cup in its centenary year. Only four European teams made the long sea journey and the Final was an all-South American affair, with Uruguay beating neighbours Argentina just as they had done in the 1928 Olympic final. -
A 450 year old soccer ball
This ball was found in the 1970's during an excavation at Stirling Castle in Scotland. It was found in the bedroom used by Mary Stuart, Queen of Scotland. She was the queen from December of 1542 through July of 1567. It's made of deerskin with a pig's bladder inside to allow for inflation. It is housed at the Stirling Smith Art Gallery and Museum in Stirling, Scotland. -
