    Pennsylvania Association for Retarded Children v. Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
    State guaranteed a free and public education to children ages 6-21, regardless of their disability or the severity of the disability.
  • Mills v. Board of Education of the District of Columbia

    Mills v. Board of Education of the District of Columbia
    Guaranteed all children the constitutional right to a free and public education, with specialized instruction catered to their specific needs regardless of any disability.
  • Lau v. Nichols

    Schools were required to provide special language programs to English Learners, in order to provide an equal education opportunity to all students.

    Parents were able to represent their children in IDEA court case, seen as a right to parental involvement. Showed that IDEA extended right to the parents as well as their children
  • Fry v. Napoleon Community Schools

    Fry v. Napoleon Community Schools
    Case filed because the school would not allow a young girl to have a service dog in school because she had an aid already. The case was found not applicable due to the misfiling on the behalf of the parents.
