  • Mills vs. the board of edu. Of the district of Columbia

    This was a court case that involved the District of Columbia because they were denying kids with special needs to a edu. This was later put into law No. 94-142.
  • Pennsylvania association for special need citizens vs. Pennsylvania

    The federal court decided that children with special needs can get a free appropriate edu. These cases showed attention to kids with special needs should have equal protection and shouldn’t excluded under law.
  • Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973

    This was law signed in by President Nixon probits discrimination in the workplace and schools, individual plans for students and adults with disabilities
  • Public Law No. 94-142

    The Education for All Handicaped Children Act. This is a law that stated that rights and respect will be given to all kids with disabilities.
  • The Rowley Decision

    Was once known as Education for All Handicapped Children Act, now called Individuals with Disabilities Education Act or IDEA.
  • The Americans with Disabilities Act

    This law doesn’t allow discrimination by your employer, services received by state and local governments, in places of public accommodation, transportation and telecommunications. Have civil rights protection to people with disabilities.
  • No Child Left Behind

    Was a research on students to see what they had and what they need to do to get the kids to the appropriate level, every kid was different and they got unique treatment.
