  • 10,000 BCE

    Ancient Middle East/Mespotamia

    -The only real bonds between the cultures were the scripts, the gods, and the attitude toward women.
    -Men and Women both worked, potter, shoemaker, fisher and priests were very common jobs.
    -Women could own land, file for divorce, and make contracts for trade.
  • 5000 BCE

    Ancient Middle East/Egypt

    -Northeastern Africa exchanged hunting for agriculture which led to development of arts and crafts.
    -3400 B.C, two separate Kingdoms were established. The Red land and the Nile River Delta.
  • 1800 BCE

    Ancient Mesoamerica/Maya

    -Excelled at pottery, Hieroglyphics, and mathematics and left behind symbolic artwork.
    -They were the most dominant indigenous societies of Mesoamerica.
    -Built pyramids, city-construction and inscribing stone monuments.
  • 800 BCE

    Ancient Europe/Ancient Greece

    -Between 40-60% of the population were slaves
    -They saw advances in pottery, art and technology
    -The ancient Greeks founded the city-states
  • 752 BCE

    Ancient Europe/Ancient Rome

    • Augustus was the first emperor of Rome, and dramatically enlarged the Roman Empire. -The claim of a republican government was maintained in Rome, they hired assistants and advisers, which eventually lead to the decline of the Roman Empire. -The Roman Military started as a nonsalaried citizen militia and later changed to a later professional force. The military campaign stretched as long as 1300 years.

    Ancient Mesoamerica/Aztec

    -Appeared in Mesoamerica in the south central region of pre-Columbia.
    -Nahuatl- the native language, was the most dominant language in the mid 1350's.
    -Typical crops like maize, beans, potatoes, tomatoes, and avocados were used for supporting themselves.
  • CCOT

    The CCOT between all of these different Civilizations is Art. Art is something that has been going for thousands and thousands of years but it has changed so much. Back then it was pottery, and weaving baskets and stuff, today it ranges from sculptures to graffiti.
