Lika the dog was the first living thing in space on Nov.3, 1957. Sadly Lika did not make it back alive. -

Alan Shepered was the first american to go up into space, but he did not orbit the earth. Freedom 7 (his capsule) was part of the Mercury space program. -

Michael Collins was a very important when Armstrong and Aldrin were walking on the moon. Collins was waiting for there arival to his mother ship, Wondering if he was going to have to return without Armstrong and Aldrin or return safely back to earth with both of them. -

Columbia took off in 1981 but failed. Columbia then tryed agian on Febuary 1 2003 and this time succseded. -

On July 23, 2003 China annouces to go into space and about 100 days later Yang Liwei goes into space for the chinese. -
