Sputnik II
The Sputnik II was launched by the Soviet Union and had a female dog named is Laika. She lived is space for seven days . She proved that, like humans animals can survive in space, but there was no way for her to be brought back to earth and she was put to sleep. The Sputnik II fell to earth in april the next year. -

Alexei Leonov was the first man to ever walk in space. Alexei was to fly in the vostok 11 lauched by the soviet union. However it was canceled and he was later launched in the Voskhod 2. The Voskhod 2 launched March 18th 1965. Alexei had barely made it back to Earth. -
