    Sputnik 2 was sent to outer space and had a dog. She was the first animal to orbit the world. Laika had died a few hours later from lift off but not from suffocation. She died from overheating and stress.

    It is used to monitor the climate and weather of the Earth. There are two types of orbiting it can use. One is polar orbiting were it see's the same swath of the Earth every 12 years.     It is between two space craft, is a orbital rendezvous. The two space craft have to have the same speed, that allows them to remain a constant distance. Some space craft don't have a docking for the two space craft to become one.

    As Vega 1 flew by Venus it launched a 2.4 meter probe into the atmosphere. The probe created a big ballon immediately entering the atmosphere. The ballon spread 9.000 kilometers in 47 hours before bursting.

    Neil Armstrong was the first man to step foot on the moon. Armstrong and his partner Buzz Aldrin spent 2.5 hours on the moon while Michael Collins remained in orbit with the Command Module. Neil Armstrong was awarded with a Congressional Space Medal of Honor.

    This was the 11th and last mission of the American Apollo Space Program. They launched at 13:33 A.M, with crew members: Commander Eugene Cernan, Command Module Pilot Ronald Evans and Lunar Module Pilot Harrison Schmitt. It was the 6th Apollo landing on the first night of launch for the U.S human spaceflight.
