    These acts directed tade between England and the colonies, also prevented colonists from certain products outside of Englands empire.
    These acts caused the colonist to smuggle and arose more conflict with trade.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    This act set the Appalachain Mountains as the temporary western boundary for the colonies.
    This act angered speculators who had bought land west already.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    This act lowered tax on imported molasses, also let officersseize goods from smugglers without going to court.
    This act angered and violated the colonists rights as English citizens.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    This act placed a tax on almost all printed material. Evrey document had tax.
    It caused protests and boycotts. Merchants didn't buy or use any imported goods from Britain.
  • Declaratory Act

    This act stated that the Parliament had the right to tax and make decisons for the British colonies.
    After this, Parliament began issuing several acts against the U.S. which angered the colonists.
  • Townshend Acts

    Townshend Acts
    This act put a tax on imported goods such as glass, tea, and paper, with the tax being paid at the port of entry.
    It caused the colonist to start a boycott against it.
  • Tea Act

    This act allowed the company a virtual monopoly, or sole control, of the trade fr tea in America.
    Now colonists vowed to stop East India Company's ships from unloading there.

    These acts were harsh laws intended to punish the people of Massachusettes for their resistance to British law.
    It led to the closing of the Boston Harbor until the Massachusettes paid for all the ruined tea.

    This act set up the government for Quebec.
    It led colonists to make new laws, the Intolerable Acts.
