    The Assassination of President W. McKinley
    In Buffalo, New York, President William McKinley was shot twice in the chest by a man named Leon Czolgosz. Still conscious, President McKinley asked for his assailant to not be harmed. When Leon Czolgosz was executed, his last words were "I killed the president because he was the enemy of the good people - the working people."
    Thomas Edison allegedly filmed the execution.

    Opium has been used to aide in medical purposes for centuries. The effects have helped those who need medical attention. For some, it became an addiction and sometimes recreational. In 1928, the Opium Law was introduced to regulate trade and control the drug usage.

    Starting in 1929, the Great Depression marked the longest and most severe economic downturn in our history. There were mass industrial production declines and deflation was at its worst. People panicked over banking, unemployment. Poverty and homelessness was at its highest. This was all due to the stock market crash which broke apart businesses, raised interest rates, and caused banks to fail.

    Dust Bowl
    In 1930 - 1936, a great drought swept across the nation. It expanded across the Great Plains and over into southeastern Colorado, Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. Overcultivation was a huge factor along with the low precipitation. Thousands of families were forced to leave their homes. Windbreaks were put into place which consisted of large groups of trees that separated farmlands. By 1940, much of the land had finally recovered.

    "Operation Menu" was the secretive campaign of President Nixon, which lead American B-52s to bomb the Eastern side of Cambodia. This lasted over a year and in Apri 1970, Nixon ordered a secret invasion of US and South Vietnamese troops into Cambodia.

    The Fall of the Iron Curtain
    Over a half a million people gathered in East Berlin as a mass protest, the Berlin Wall (AKA Iron Curtain) eventually crumbled by the uprising of citizens. With a fumbled news report, people from foreign countries flooded over to Berlin, taking part in the making of history. To prevent injuries or deaths, Harald Jager gave the order to open it up for everyone.

    Bush vs. Gore
    Election day in the year 2000, was supposed to be on November 7th. There was no clear winner yet with how close the votes were. There was a media war on who the winner was, yet when focusing on Florida, they realized the votes were so close that they had to have a machine count them. Later, they ended up reversing the recount and labeling George W. Bush as the victor.
