    The King had a plan for new taxes, but the first estate and the second estate voted against him. they went on to change the system and create a constitution that has equal rights for all men. they then became the National Assembly.

    After the estates created the constitution they formed the group called the National Assembly and went on to take the tennis court oath

    An oath the National Assembly took stating that they were the only group that would represent the nation. and The National assembly would not stop meeting until the King made the constitution.
  • Storming on Bastille

    Storming on Bastille
    After the National Assembly was formed King louis was preparing troops. with news about the King the Parisians retaliated with storming the bastille and releasing the prisoners in it. The storming of Bastille gave the revolutionists weapons and after the revolutionists took over Paris King Louis had to accept the constitutional monarchy.

    Women marched around the market place to riot the price of bread, eventually the crowd grew and the mob marched down to the palace of Versailles and confronted the King and had some demands for the King and then the next day made him and his family return to Paris

    on September 3rd 1791 King Louis was forced to Accept the French constitutional monarchy. This meant that the monarchy would not have all the power and most of the power went to the legislative assembly ( also known as the National assembly)

    After France took away most of the power from the monarchy they then proceeded to completely overthrow and have the National Assembly take power. the National assembly aimed to create a system based on the principles of liberty, equality, and fraternity.

    Marie Antoinette and King Louis were seen as symbols of the Monarchy and the old regime, the revolutionists believed thar their rule was oppressive and they were not doing what was best for the people. The revolutionist wanted to turn over a new leaf so they let go of the past by beheading the queen and king and started their own rule.

    the reign of terror led by Maximilien Robespierre was a response to the internal and external threats faced by the revolutionists. the committee of public safety gained power and put severe measures to protect the revolution. they believed that anyone who opposed the revolution or was suspected to do activity's that were a threat to the revolution should be killed. this led to mass arrests, trials, and executions.

    the reign of terror ended in 1794 by the fall of Maximilien Robespierre. the revolutionaries realized that the extreme measures taken during the reign of terror has caused fear and instability. they sought to restore a sense of order and moderation. the end of the reign of terror led to try and making a more stable government.
