it is a document that had guidelines for the eastern settlers to land in the north america and share the land between the aboriginal people and government. -

when the three territories united and became stronger and better. it helped the government by colonizing and keeping everything together and better. -
Red River Resistance
The metis could keep there land as well as there rights and freedoms. it happened for about a year. it affected the Canadian government because of the resistance from the the red river. -
Manitoba Act
it helped the metis and gave them there needs and want which really helped out with supporting the familys. -
Manitoba School Act
The Act eliminated provincial funding for Catholic schools, establishing instead a system of tax supported. This prohibition would ultimately lead to the reduction of Catholic schools, as many Catholic parents were unable to pay for schooling. -
Indian Act
It forbade First Nations peoples and communities from expressing their identities through governance and culture. it really changed the first nations lives and culture.It changed the government they had to apologize for the actions and pay off debt. -
Treaty 6
For the first three years after the signing of the treaty, Indigenous peoples farming on reserves were entitled to $1,000 in agricultural provisions. It afffeced the Canadian government because it was a treaty of land that they can not take back from the people. -
Treaty 7
Treaty 7 is an agreement between the Crown and several, mainly Blackfoot, First Nation band governments in what is today the southern portion of Alberta. The idea of developing treaties for Blackfoot lands was brought to Blackfoot chief Crowfoot. which affected the Canadian government another treaty for the Blackfoot to trade and have meetings on that land. -
Northwest Resistance
The North-West Resistance was a violent, five-month insurgency against the Canadian government, fought mainly by Metis and their First Nations allies which played a big part in the first nation culture. -
Treaty 8
A space of land just for the first nations that was promised. they can practice what they want on that land as they wish. it affected the government by having certain spots where the first nations can keep to them selves by checking on them and giving them needs. -
the Métis Betterment Act
It affected the Metis in a big way that they could have their farming and hunting lands. it gave the Metis more land in certain ways by the amount of people and many other ways. it affected the government by giving off some of their owned land which trying to follow the agreements. -
Charter of Rights and Freedoms
it explains people the rights and freedoms of people who live in Canada and is called a citizen. it was a more laid out version of rights and freedoms for people to see. it affected the government because they had to follow all of the rules that they put out and make sure that it is fair to everyone. -
Indigenous suffrage
Having this come into the law it has brought a great chance for the indigenous people. by letting them have a voice in government and their points of view. it had a big affect on the government because it has more vote to count and can have an affect on the party who is in power -

It honor's all of the first nations culture. It shows thankful gesture of the Canadian government. well it takes more responsibility of showing thanks to the first nations.. -
Present-day court victories for the Métis
it granted Metis to have some more rights and freedoms. it made the Metis people feel a lot better about there self and there culture. The Canadian government was affected by it because it has had more recognition for the Metis people.
