    The American Revolution was a revolt of the first colonies of America against Britain. The British Parlament was taxing without representing and that was making the Americans mad. The British then added many other acts, such as the Tea Act and the Stamp Act. Americans then responded by dumping tea into the harbor.     The United States Constitution was a piece of paper stating the laws and rules to the newborn America. On July 4th, 1787, many men signed to make the frame of a now thriving country. The document also stated the type of government, rights of the citizens, and many other federal rules.

    The Compromise of 1820, was a geographical compromise stating that California was officially a state, and Texas had a new border. It also discussed slaves and rights to land. Aside from California and Texas, the compromise also talked about New Mexico, Utah, and Missouri.

    The Kansas- Nebraska act created the territories of Kansas and Nebraska. Made in 1854, it made opportunities for new land and the Continental Railroad. This act is what gave Kansas and Nebraska their current forms today.

    The peculiar institution was the holding and using black slaves in the southern American states during the Civil war. The people that supported this were the Confederate, while the people opposing this was the union.
  • Emancipation Proclimation

    Emancipation Proclimation
    On January 1, 1863, Abraham Lincoln wrote the Emancipation Proclamation, stating that all African American slaves in America would be freed from slavery. Lincoln signed this during the Civil War and it was made to an advantage to the Union. This law made white southerners furious. Without black slaves to help them, the Confederates lost the war, and all U.S. slaves were free.
