Dread Scott decides to sue his master because they lived in free territory for a while and Dred Scott decided that he should be free. -

Compromise of 1850
The Compromise of 1850 admitted California as a free state, however it came with the Fugitive Slave Act. -
Fugitive Slave Act
The Fugitive Slave made citizens in free states return slaves to thier masters. This made abolitionists super angry. -
The Supreme Courts Decision on Scotts Case
On March 1857 the Supreme Court stated that all black-slaves or free could never become a citizen of the United States. The Judge Roger B. Taney also said that the Missouri Comprimise was unconstitutional therefour allowing slavery in all states. (Dont know exact date)
