Rise Of Slavery
Slavery became very profitable in the 1660s. during this time King Charles the second created the royal African company to transport slaves from Africa to America. -
Revolt
During the many years of slavery there were revolts that happened all over however not many of them succeeded. Nat Turner led a group of former slaves in Southampton County, Virginia in August 1831. This group murdered around sixty whites in two days before the militia forces were able to stop them. -

President Franklin Roosevelt issues an executive order prohibiting discrimination in new Works Progress Administration projects, one of the first anti-discrimination measures in U.S. history. -

The civil rights act of 1964 which was first proposed by former president John F. Kennedy. Then later survived very strong opposition from the southern members of the government was signed by Kennedy’s successor Lyndon B Johnson.
