    Called the Osborne, the first laptop computers were sold to the public. The MS-DOS 1.0 had a 5 inch display with a weight of 24 pounds. Invented by Microsoft and IBM.

It was designed to become a full operating system in the future but currently was used as a graphics environment which allowed users to have a visual navigation of the operating system. It would later be developed into the software we all know as Microsoft Windows.
