A patent for the real and complete sewing machiene was given to Thomas Saint. He was a cabinet maker, and an inventor on the side. There was no actual tsngible machiene, but ht epatent described a machiene that punched a hole and threaded fabric. -

French tailor, Barthelemy Thimonnier invented the first working Sewing machiene, He was almost killed by a riot of other frencch tailors worried for there jobs being replaced. -
FInal Stitches
Walter Hunt's sewing machine also used a lockstitch with two spools of thread and an eye-pointed needle; however, the courts upheld Howe's patent since Hunt had abandoned his patent.If Hunt had patented his invention, Elias Howe would have lost his case and Isaac Singer would have won the right to the machiene. -
