  • BIRTH/EARLY LIFE

    BIRTH/EARLY LIFE
I was born here in Phoenix, AZ, on September 23, 2008, with my parents and a loving family. My parents were pretty young when they had me; my mom was 17(a junior), and my dad was 18(a senior). I was very frequently around my family from both sides since they were always helping my parents get on their feet, and some of my family from Mexico would even send things from to help out aswell.

  • EARLY LIFE 2

For as long as I can remember, I have loved many art forms, whether singing, dancing, drawing, music, etc. or anything that involved being creative, especially in school, I loved it.
  • My First Play

    My First Play
When I was 8, my fourth-grade class saw a Jack and the Beanstalk play in Tempe for a field trip. I remember we all loved the colors, the costumes, and the fairy tale. Later this year, I started to watch West Side Story, and only a few clips of Hamilton.
  • More of Early Life

    More of Early Life
When I was in 6th grade(10 yrs old.), I was finally eligible to be in choir for an afterschool activity. Also, I got to have electives now that I was in middle school, and I eventually chose to have guitar and playwriting.
  • COVID-19

In March 2020, schools got canceled since several of our students and staff were infected with COVID-19. Later in the year, the day before Christmas, my family and I would find out that we were infected as well. It eventually affected my mom the most, and she had to be sent to the hospital for a while, but she recovered, and so did we!
  • Phoenix College Prep

    Phoenix College Prep
I attended Phoenix College High School, which allowed students to take college classes while also taking their high school classes. This gave us a headstart in getting credits for college before graduating.
  • THE111

    THE111
When I was a sophomore in high school, I took a class called Intro to Theatre. In that course, I met a pretty cool teacher named Mr. B and learned about the different types of theatre art forms and their history. I came to love it, and it's where it inspired me to become a costume designer.
  • Junior Year

When I was a junior in high school, I started looking for colleges or universities with good costume-designing programs when I stumbled upon the Academy of Art University. They had a great acceptance rate, but it was out of state for hands-on work, so I kept high grades and started saving money to go out of state!
  • Graduation

    Graduation
Once I graduated from high school, I immediately started applying to the Academy of Arts University since I wanted to get a jump start as soon as possible. I also needed to work for a while to save up to move from Arizona to San Francisco, CA, for better opportunities and hands-on work.
  • BEGINNING

    BEGINNING
Once I moved to the San Francisco and the Academy, I quickly expanded my learning by developing visual concepts for characters, researching, sourcing fabrics/other materials, fitting costumes onto people/making alterations, and collaborating with others in the costume designing courses. I also started learning to sew and use special effects makeup to create a character.
  • First Two semesters

    First Two semesters
For the first semester of C.D, I explored a lot technology, different drawing styles, and trying to find my own signature style. The second semester was history through the 15th century along with other forms of historic fashion. There was also textile learning and other digital techniques.
  • Third and Fourth Semesters

    Third and Fourth Semesters
During the third semester, I learned more about styling and constructing my costume ideas to “bring the characters to life”. While in the fourth semester, I learned about the 19th century, millinery, drawing, and creating costumes for dancers.
  • Fifth and Sixth semester

My third year is when I really started to create pieces to go along with a story and a plot. I needed to collaborate with others to make this story for our costumes to be showcased to directors and photographers on stage. Our pieces would be added to our portfolios.
  • My last year

    My last year
My seventh and eighth semesters were the most challenging work I’ve had to do compared to my other portfolios. To pass this last year, we had to create another storyboard involving urban culture with fellow costume designers, producers, directors, and lighting crews. We ended up creating the perfect story about the urban cultures around the world and the different ways those societies functioned.
  • GRADUATED WITH A BFA DEGREE

    GRADUATED WITH A BFA DEGREE
Finally, after graduating at 22 and getting my bachelor's degree in fine arts, I was already on my way to becoming a successful costume designer with all my experience and work ready.
  • Settling down

During the summer of the year I graduated, I went back to Phoenix, AZ, to settle down and see my family after so long.
  • ORPHEUM THEATER

    ORPHEUM THEATER
When I moved back to California, it took me a while to get back into work again so I just went for it and applied for the San Francisco Theatre. They got back to me a few weeks later saying that I would be an assistant designer working with a professional. One of the first things I got to work on with her was “The Nutcracker” before Christmas came.
  • WORKING ON MY OWN

At the age of 26, I finally started to work on my own as a costume designer with my own team, became successful, and I later went on to do costumes for some of the most favorited plays in the Orpheus Theater such as Hamilton, The Lion King, and MJ: The musical.
  • My Death

At the age of 45, I died.
