Timeline of My Life

  • The Beginning: Birth

    The Beginning: Birth
I was born on May 14th, 2002 at 7:56 AM, funny because I am not a morning person. My birthday is just 4 days after my Mom's birthday, and it also just so happens to usually be Mother's Day weekend at the same time, a pretty busy week for the Higgins family. I was born at Northern Westchester Hospital on a simple spring morning. My sister gave me my first toy (pictured), she picked it out at the hospital shop. She was all nice at first until a few days later she asked, "When do we take her back?"
  • Minnie Ears Obsession

    Minnie Ears Obsession
It was my first time at Disney World when I met Minnie Mouse. This was the beginning of my Minnie ears obsession. I got my own pair of Minnie ears and I never wanted to take them off. I wore them for about four years straight. I wore them everywhere I went, even school. Looking back on it all, I was pretty cute. It was so funny because I'd be wearing the infamous Minnie ears in so many pictures. People remembered me because of them. Though I slowly grew out of them with other colorful headbands.
  • Moving Halfway Across the Country

    Moving Halfway Across the Country
My family moved to Katy, Texas in August of 2007. That means I'd be starting 1st grade in an entirely different place, I didn't know anyone. It's already hard to move halfway across the country, but the difference between New York and Texas, is pretty drastic to say the least. It's scary to move somewhere foreign and leave all that you know. Would my friends forget about me? This whole process has taught me a lot about being able to adapt to change which I think has helped me in the long run.
  • Outbacker of the Month

    Outbacker of the Month
The first year I moved to Texas, 1st grade, I was behind all of the other kids. Turns out, we learn to read in New York later than in Texas, so I was struggling. I had extra help classes, so knowing me, I did my best to catch up. After 1st grade, I was back on track and reading strongly. My hardworking and determined nature, that I still very much have now, was enough to be awarded "Outbacker of the Month". I got a boomerang with my name on it and a note from my first grade teacher on the back.
  • Back to New York

    Back to New York
After living in Texas for 3-4 years, it was time for my family to move back to New York. I would be entering 4th grade back in Brewster, my original hometown. It was hard moving back because you wonder if everyone forgot about you and you hope that everyone hasn't already made their close friend group. It's weird to be scared of being the new kid in a town where you have lived before, but that was me. Luckily, I was able to make some friends and I fit right back in. Did Texas even happen?
  • Joining Stage Crew

    Joining Stage Crew
I was always fascinated by plays, but never the acting part, I would think: what's happening backstage? I tried to figure out what they did backstage to change the scenes. So, when 6th grade came, I joined stage crew. I personally love run crew, changing the scene in the dark with just spike tape to guide you, not to mention the time restraints, it's a thrill. Without the crew, there wouldn't be a show. Even though my dreams of becoming a director have changed, it's still a big part of who I am.
  • Buying My Own Camera

    Buying My Own Camera
I began liking photography for a number of reasons. I loved the fact that I had the ability to capture a moment in time and keep it forever. Every single photo is a once in a lifetime opportunity. What also drawn me into photography, is if I'm holding the camera, I don't have to be in the photo. So, I saved up my money to buy my very own Nikon D3300 camera. I'm proud that I accomplished this because I set my mind to it and I followed it until I reached my goal, which I'd say was a success.
  • My First Twenty One Pilots Concert

My First Twenty One Pilots Concert
I started liking this band in 2015, and I mean really liked. I don't know where I would be without this band and I know how dramatic that sounds but it's true. Two guys from Ohio, who make music, have done so much for me without even knowing me. They inspire and motivate me to find my purpose. Going to a Twenty One Pilots concert is like stepping into a world where everything is right. It's just you and the music. You're surrounded by people who love the band as much as you, it's incredible.
  • Backstage Mishap

    Backstage Mishap
During Mary Poppins at BHS, my job was to be a sound runner. But run crew backstage needed help during a few scene changes, so there I was. I was now in charge of the stage right bed (just one scene) and the stage right street lamp. During one of the changes, a set piece comes off and then I bring out the street lamp. But one time, the set piece was stuck on the curtain, blocking me. I ended up running on stage, throwing that bulky street lamp somewhat near it's spot, completely crooked.
  • Sister Off To College

    Sister Off To College
I have one sister, Jaclyn, she's 2 years older than me. That means she'd be off to college while I'm still in high school for two years. I never really thought about her leaving until she started packing. It's a big change for me because without her, I'd be an only child. Who would I annoy when I was bored? Once it actually happened, I was surprised, it wasn't as bad as I imagined, I was becoming more independent. At least now, I don't have to share a bathroom with her, well, until the summer.
  • Job Interview Fail

    Job Interview Fail
Over the summer, I decided that I should get a job. So, I applied to GAP in the Danbury Fair Mall. The manager called me after I placed my application, everything was looking good. I went to the store a couple times but the manager was never in, always on break, left early, or on vacation. Then finally, one time she was there. She brought me to the back for a quick interview. She told me she'd call me to let me know in the next few days. Sounds good right? Jokes on me, never got a call back.
  • Twenty One Pilots Concert Number 3

Twenty One Pilots Concert Number 3
My third time seeing my favorite band was different than the others. I went to Long Island with 3 of my closest friends the night before the concert. We stayed at the hotel right across from the venue. We had general admission tickets, so around 7:30 AM, we left our hotel to line up. We waited outside (in the rain and wind) for 10 hours with many other dedicated fans. Finally the doors opened at 6:00 PM and we got 4-5th row. We had the time of our lives, it's a night that I will never forget.
