  • Project Brainstorm

    I spent an hour or two thinking about what I wanted to do for my senior project. I decided on trying to write a novel.

  • Novel Ideation

    I spent about 30 minutes thinking about what type/genre of novel I want to write, and decided to go with a fantasy novel (although I really considered science fiction).

  • Plot Research

    So I spent about an hour researching plot stuff, such as general structure, tips to help the process, and good examples to look at.

  • Novel Outline

    I spent about half an hour writing a rough outline of how I want the general plot to go. I expect I'll need to revise this as I continue, but now I have a basic outline written.

  • Changing My Project

    I changed my Project to tiling my bathroom.

  • Mentor Get!

    I got a mentor for my new senior project, a neighbor I don't really know well with experience in construction and refurbishing.

  • Gathering a list of materials

    I spent 2 hours with my family browsing tiles and going over other materials that will be needed for the process.

  • Meeting With Mentor

    I spent an hour discussing the process for tiling my shower, from tearing things out, to waterproofing, to actually tiling.

  • Material Discussion

    I spent another hour with my mentor discussing the use of a material he uses in his contracting, KERDI, made by Schlüter Systems, which is a light material extremely effective at preventing water from getting through to the sheetrock.
