    Every year
    Checks for any cancer risks
    Doctor will ask about lifestyle behaviors like smoking, alcohol use, sexual health, diet, and exercise.
  • BRCA1

    18 is the youngest age
    Can be checked once
    Checks the risk for breast cancer
    A doctor or nurse will take a blood or saliva sample for lab testing.
  • Pap Smear (Cervical, HPV)

    Around age 21
    21-65 (every 3 years) or if also checking for HPV 30-65 (every 5 years)
    Checks for cervical cancer
    Doctor uses a speculum to examine the cervix and collect cells for lab testing to check for abnormalities or HPV
  • Mammogram

    40-44
    Get screened every year until 55 then get screened every 2 years
    Checks for breast cancer
    X-ray pictures are taken of the breast then the images are examined for cancer.
  • Skin

    40
    Every 3 years
    Checks for skin cancer
    Exam checks for moles, birthmarks, or other marks with unusual colors, sizes, shapes, and textures.
  • Colonoscopy

    45-50
    Every 10 years
    Checks for colon cancer
    Doctor uses a lighted tube to check for cancer inside the rectum and colon.
  • Lung

    Any age up to 74
    Every year
    Checks for lung cancer
    CT scans are taken of the lungs and detailed images are examined for cancer.
