360 S County Rd, Palm Beach, FL. This building was built in 1925 by Harvey and Clark. It was recenty added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. This relates to the political unti in APHG. This is were some of the decison making happemns for the county of Plam Beach. -

This port is an example of the sites up sides in which the port can bring attractions such as cruises, and ships to bring and carry merchandise. This Mcmansion is located on 2723 S. Flager Drive in West Palm Beach. Thsi huge house is located in a historic neighborhood. Also at this time, the county is debating whether or not to place a cap on the ration of home size per lot. This topic would fall under the urban and Suburban unit in this class. -
A historical building downtown (dating prior to 1920) - building 2 of Dreyfoos campus
Building 2 of the Dreyfoos campus in West Palm Beach was built in 1906 and it was named in honor of Alexander W. Dreyfoos, Jr. Back when it was build, it was called Central School, and it was used for grades K-12! Because it was built so long ago the architecture is antique and different from what we are used to today. -
Stadiium- Roger Dean Stadium
The Roger Dean Stadium is located in Jupiter, FL 33458. It is a stadium for baseball that was built in 1998 for Rger Dean, who was one of the first major Mega Car Dealers in the United States. It is used by some professional mbaseball teams such as Cardinals and Marlins for spring training. It relates to the cultural side of the APHG class. Baseball is a classically American sport favored in Florida, so ther county spent the money to build this expansive training facility. -
Agricultural land use- K & M Nursery
K and N Nursery is an independant garden center. They use their Agricultural land to plant a variety of flowers and plants. They have 100-180 days per planting season, and they use fertilizers from Canada . -
Urban Infrastructure- Tri Rail
The Tri Rail is a system of public transportation used in urban areas through out the east coast of Florida. The train begins in Miami and end North of West Palm. It is a relatively cheap way to travel through the multiple cities in south Florida quickly. This system would relate to the Urban section of APHG. -
Concert Hall - Kravis Center
The Kravis TCenter is a huge builing with many theatre inside that holds show, ballet, musicla, and more. It bring many people in each night to enjoy its venue aned productions. It also provides income for the City Place area, and privides customers. Like when people go to see a show, they might go to dinner at Cheesecake Factory, or Ruth Chris's. -
Location Of Historical Event- Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse
The Jupiter Lighthouse was built in 1853 by the order of congress. It is one of the 6 lighthouses ordered to be built. The general placed there named George Gordon Meade actually defeat Robert E. Lee at the battle of Gettysburg. This is a very historic building for our history. -
Ghettoization- Belle Glades
Ghettoization is the process occurring in many inner cities in which they become dilapidated center of poverty, as rich move out to the suburbs. So when people began moving out into the suburbs and out of the city, the rest has become more of a ghetto. -
Land use in the CBD- The South Towers
The South Towers is an apartment complex in City palce, West Palm Beach. This represents a kLand use becasue, where there are people being employed, there are people who need somewhere to live. It is a higher end living spacefor people who probably work in areas nin or near city place. -
Urban Sprawl - Canyon Communities
These multiple communities are example of urban sprawl beacuse about 10 years ago, all the land which now houses houndreds of thousand of people. It started with juat canyon Lakes, and 2 years later came Canyon Ilse, then Canyon Springs, and just not to long ago they tore down acres of tomatoe and sugar cane agriculture to open Canyon Trails. -
Commercialization- Palm Beach Outlets
The Palm Beach Outlets was built in Febuary 2014, on top of the old Palm Beach mall. It brought in many new stores to attract new people and shoppers. They brought in clothing stores and resturaunts. To reach the outlets, the urban infrastructure ( the high ways and roads) have to be added or changed. The mall should bring in new jobs, new revenue and help the economy. -
Gated Communities- Canyon Lakes
Gated Communities are a symbol of safer, usually higher class suburbs. These have been spreading more and more around the U.S.. The gates gaurdign the entrances help with security and to keep the residents safe. I have definitly noticed a growth in these types of communities latley, with the continued urban sprawl. -
Functional Zonation- agriculture vs. shopping center
This is a picture of the difference between the rural landscape with the overgrown trees, bushes and grass. But across the street you can see the top of the Delray Market Place, a recently built commercial center with multiple resturants, stores, a movie theatre, groccery stores, and more! The difference shows the functional zoning of the area, and how different spaces are used for different purposes. -
Placelessness- Shopping Center
Many times with Ubanization, the sight of huge national corporations like McDonalds,Winne-Dixie, Office Depot, ect, begin to make every shopping center look the same. The picture shows a sign of all these stores that can be found in the shopping center. You may realize that that sign and those stores look exactly the same as one of those stores by you're house. This shows how the urbanization and th esevice industry can cause places to blend together, visually wise. -
What I love about PBC- the palm trees
Part of the reason why I love PBC is the tropical feelign to it. The beautiful palm trees, the sea breezde and the beautiful su sets we get make me apprechiate living in this part of florida. -
Political Boundary- Lake Worth Tower
The tall tower represents that you have now driven or entered a different city. In this case it would be Lake Worth. It is a demarcational way to define the political boundary of the city. -
Religion part 1- Church
This is an image of the St. Joseph's Episcopal Church in Boynton Beach. This represents the Christian religion, and ita brach is called Episcopal. -

This Temple represents the jewish religion and their place of worship. -

The last religios centers is Al-Amin Center of Florida, in boynton Beach Florida. The Al-Amin Center of Florida is a Muslim mosque, the worship place for people who practice the Islamkic religion. -
Zoning Regulation- school sign
The Sign by the street shows the special regulations set in certain zones, like these regulations on driving speeds. They set the speed limit to ensure safty for the students walking to the school. The rules are only for the schooll hours, so on the weekend it doesnt apply. -
Religion Part 3 -Muslim
The last religous place is called the Al-Amin Center of Florida, It is a muslim mosque in Boynotn Beach Florida. It is one of the three major religions of the world. -
Gentfrification- Dance Depot shopping mall
This photo is a before picture of a shopping mall where there is now onstruction going on to make it look nicer and larger. This is gentrification because the county has decided to renovate the center to improve the look to attract more people .
