Hitler was voted in with 89.98 percent of the vote. He vowed to bring Germany back to it's former power, before it's loss in WWI. -

Pearl Harbor was bombed by the Japanese due to it's large air force base. It was a surprise attack and got the U.S. involved in WWII. -
Japanese Americans sent to internment camps
Americans were deep in the war and were suspicious of those who resembled the enemy. Japanese people were forced into camps, prejudiced against in a manner almost reminiscent of the treatment of the Jews in Germany.
