After the Texans had been rebellious for some time the Mexican Army which outnumbered the Texans, take the Alamo and kill all except children and women. -
France Invades Mexico
In 1838 France invaded Mexico in order to make them pay some outstanding debts. Santa Anna then agthered men and fought against the French, although they lost. Santa Anna was still received as a hero. -
Mexican-American War
He assumed command of the Mexican army and fought the invaders on Mexican soil. That atack officially started the War. -
Treaty Of Guadalupe Hidalgo
Mexico ceded all of California, Nevada and Utah and parts of Arizona, New Mexico to the USA in exchange for 15 million dollars and forgiveness of about 3 million more in previous debt. The treaty also established the Rio Grande as the border of Texas. -
Santa Anna exiled
Santa Anna sold the Gadsden Purchase to the United States to help pay debts, which many Mexicans hated. After doing so, he was exiled from the country for the 3rd time. -
Death
Santa Anna was 80 when he finally gave up on gettin power from the Mexican Government. He had constantly throughout his life wanted to get power.
