Education.
As a child and a teenager Thomas attended St Anthony's School in Threadneedle Street in London in 1478. He then continued his studies at Oxford University in 1492 studying law. More was then accepted into Lincoln's Inn to advance his legal studies and throughout this time meets Erasmus. -

1504 - He becomes a member of parliament.
1505 - Thomas More sincerely thought of entering the priesthood but decided against it and married Jane Colt, saying he would rather become a good husband than a bad priest.
1510 - He was selected under-sheriff of London and gained a name as a carefully truthful man. -

A month later he marries Alice Middleton, a widow, to make sure that his children have a mother. Later on Thomas adopts a child called Alice who was his wife’s daughter. -

1515 - He is sent on a diplomatic mission to Antwerp where he begins to write Utopia. His book was then published in 1516.
1518 - He becomes a member of the Privy Council of King Henry VIII.
1525 - He is then chosen to be Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster. This meant he had a large amount of control over much on Northern England.
1529 - Sir Thomas More was confirmed as Lord Chancellor of England. -
