Idea of SAFE Driver
On this day, during Tech Design class, I first came up with the idea of SAFE Driver -
Started researching
This was when I first started watching Youtube videos on how to make an app and on what platform I should make it on. Also this was when I first started researching on how big of a problem drunk driving really is. -
First draft idea of SAFE Driver
This was when I came up with the first ideas for the SAFE Driver app. These were just simple concept ideas, but after more research I started determining which ideas were valid or not. -
Started making app
This day, I first started making my first draft of the app -
Finished making first draft of app
When I finished my first rough draft of SAFE Driver. The app was fairly simple and was still missing many features I have now. -
Website
This was when I made an informative website about my app for my presentation in Tech Design class. -
Started Criterion A
This was the day I first started working on this project in CPR class. Also this was when I first started working on the online document. -
Finished Criterion A
This was when I finished Criterion A. -
Started Criterion B
When I started Criterion B, the projection aspect of the project. -
Wrote morning announcements for bake sale
This was when I wrote the morning announcements for my Bake Sale on January 23rd -
Emailed Mr.McCloskey
When I emailed Mr.McCloskey for approval to have bake sale and to send him the morning announcements. -
Contacted Viper
This was when I contacted Viper Smart Start to be able to give my app the feature to stop or start a car engine from the app. I did this because I did not know how to do it on my own and I couldn't find anyone else who could. -
Contacted My Chevrolet
On this day, I contacted Chevrolet to give my app the feature to start or stop a car engine from the app. I contacted them because I had not heard from Viper Smart Start yet. -
Contacted General Motors
Since Viper didn't respond and My Chevrolet told me to contact them, I called them with my mentor to see how they could help me. I had an interview with them but to have their help it required at least 4 months. -
Text message feature for SAFE Driver
This was when I came up with the concept of sending a text message to two emergency contacts if the user fails the sobriety test and when the user succeeds the two emergency contacts get a message as well. This was to replace the car engine feature temporarily and the car engine feature will then be added onto the app later on as an update. -
Hired a developer with mentor
This was when I hired a developer with my mentor to take care of the finishing touches of the app, especially the aesthetic aspect. -
App progress check
Every evening, for a week, the developer would send me a build for me to check on to test it and see if I liked it. I would send him what I wanted and he would take care of the aesthetic aspect as I couldn't do it myself. -
Finished questions
This was when I finished all the questions for the first version of the app. Nevertheless more questions will be added constantly. -
Made logo
When I made the logo for the application. The logo will display on a users mobile device. -
Finished app
This was when I finished the final product of SAFE Driver that will be published on the app store. -
Bake Sale Posters
When I made and put up poster to inform students the bake sale going on the following day. -

This was when I did my first of the 7 test I ran on the app. The tests were with my mentor and my siblings. -
Bake Sale
This was the day I had my bake sale. -
Counted money collected from bake sale
Collected a total of $160 -
Contacted Apple Developer program to enroll
This was when I had to contact the Apple Developer to be able to enroll or else I can't get my app onto the app store. -
Community Project mentoring session

Read and approved of the Apple Developer Agreement form
On this day, I started enrolling into the Apple Developer program. I had to read many forms and agreements and I read those all this very day. -

This was when I had to read a 76 page document that explained the policies of joining this program that allows me to put the app on the app store. -
Changed app name
I was about to submit the app but it didn't allow me to use SAFE Driver as that name was trademarked. So I had to repeat all the steps that took me a week -
Wrote app description for the app store
This was when i had to write the description of the application to be able to submit it. -
Created website
On this day I had to create a website with contact information to be able to submit the app onto the app store. -
Screenshotted pictures for App store
On this day I was screenshotting pictures from my app to add to my review I had to submit to the app store. -
Submitted app
This was when I finally submitted the app and waited for apple to review it. -
App is ready for sale
On this day, I finally saw that the app store approved my app but it was not available on the app store yet. -
SAFER Driver is on app store
This was when I finally found my app on the app store, accessible for all users. -
Started making new questions
This is when I made new questions to improve my app for the next update -
