    Ivan III “The Great” comes in. He ends the mongol rule. Then expands the territory eventually.
  • 1200 BCE

    Mongols

    Mongols
    Mongols come and invade Kiev. It turned out successful. Which led to them ruling the area for 200 years.
  • 800 BCE

    Early Settlement

    Early Settlement
    Scandinavian Warriors who are also called (Varangians) & Slavs come together. They settle near Volga & Dnieper Rivers. Then eventually led to Mongols coming in.

    Peter I “The Great” gets power. His goal was to modernize Russia and get trade partners with Europe. He also built up their military.
