Russia gets into war with Japan thinking it will be an easy and quick win for Russia. Japan ends up capturing Port Arthur which was a very important naval base for Russia. -
Bloody Sunday
A group of workers led by Georgy Apollonovich Gapon marched to the winter palace to make their demands. Troops opened fire on them and killed hundreds and wounded more. -
The Revolution of 1905
Revolutions all around Russia that were crushed when the troops returned back from war. -
Russian envolvement in World War I
Russia is involved in World War I until the end of czar's rule and the start of communisium. Russia signs the Brest-Litovsk peace treaty with Germany in 1918. -
The March Revolution
The revolution came to Petrograd in March. There were riots and uprisings all over the town. -
Czar Nicholas II abdicates the throne
Nicholas II abdicates the throne and the Duma sets up a Provisional Government.
