March Revolution
Russian citexens organized strikes and protests demanding food and fuel. Soldiers meant to stop the protests, ended up joining the protestors. On Wensday March 15, 1917 Czar Nicholas II gave up his power. Which ended the Romanov dynasty in Russia. -

On March 11, the troops of the Petrograd army garrison were called out to quell the uprising. In some encounters, regiments opened fire, killing demonstrators, but the protesters kept to the streets and the troops began to waver. That day, Nicholas again dissolved the Duma. -
The Provisional Goverment
The Provisional Goverment was a temporary central goverment in Russia after Nicholas II steped down. The Provisional Goverment was led by Alexander Kerensky. Alexander saw the war effort as the #1 priorty. -
Peasants Revolt
The peasants tried to take a stand attempting to overthrow the Bourgeoise and taking land. This was a clear statement for the desire of equailty and rights. -
Bolshevik Revolution
Bolsheviks staged a coup d’etat in St. Petersburg. Overthrew the provisional government. Members of the provisional government fled or were arrested. Bolsheviks claimed absolute power. -

lenin became the virtual dictator of the first Marxist state in the world. His government made peace with Germany, nationalized industry and distributed land, but beginning in 1918 had to fight a devastating civil war against anti-Bolshevik White Army forces. -
