A civil war broke out in Russia. It was the the Bolsheviks, the Red Army, against Lenin's opponents, the White Army. It was people who wanted change against people who didn't want change in the political party. -
Red Army wins war
The red army wins the civil war, along with 15 million people dying in the 2 years of fighting. The Bolsheviks renamed Russia to USSR and was led by a communist party. -
Stalin comes to power
At first Stalin was the party secretary under Lenin. However, he turned on his allies and soon enough became the leader of the Communists. -
Holodomor
When Stalin was growing his agricultral revolution, he made small farms into collective farms and many poor people were not able to eat. In the end about 4-7 million people starved to death
