    Decembrist Revolt
    Five russian officers lead about 3000 soldiers to protest. The government wins the revolt and the decembrists are sent to siberia. this revolt is what really got the russian people going and this is what mainly started all the protesting from the population.

    Nicholas II becomes czar of Russia
    Nicholas becomes czar which he is not quite ready for but he has to because he is the oldest and his father (alexander) died so he becomes czar. he didnt take it very seriously and had lots of fun and didnt focus on being a czar. because of him the army fell apart and so the bolsheviks killed him and took his spot.

    the russians wanted a warm water port for their navy and for trading so they were planning on taking it from the japanese so the japanese attacked them first. russia suffered many losses to the japanese and eventually there was a treaty signed and overall the japanese won which was a huge suprise because russia had a much bigger army. because of all these losses for russia the population started to uprise and the czar had to send in an army of about 300,000 soldiers to stop it.

    unarmed demonstrators led by father georgy gapon were shot at by soldiers as they walked twoards the winter palace. this provoked many outrages and strikes through out russia. people also called nicholas "bloody nicholas" because he chose to shoot the harmless demonstrators.

    when russia joined the war they over took many countries. eventually the germans started taking land back and causeing russia major casualties and so the grand duke was kicked out and the czar himself took charge of the army. when the russian army was weak the bolshevicks over took the government and signed a treaty to get out of the war but gave up a good amount of land. this stirred many people because they did not think that it was the right choice and this causes up rises.

    the march revolution was a huge uprise that lasted about a week and it included huge crowds and armed fights with the russian police. eventually the police took the crowds side and then they abdicted czar nicholas the second. a provisional government took his spot until everything was sorted out.

    nicholas is forced to abdicate the throne becasue he has lost wars and battles and his country is getting much poorer and very hungry.eventually a army garrison at petrograd joins a group of workers and they force nicholas to abdicate. because of this the followers that are loyal to nicholas start recruting people to their side which is leading to the revolution.

    The russian civil war was the socilism party and capatilism party fighting against each and eight foreign nations fighting to see who would rule russia. because of this war all the little countries started fighting and russia became one big war zone basically. this is also a big war becasue this would determine what politcal party would have rule over russia.

    The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics was a single party governed by the communist party. this party started many wars and signed many treaties and this was very important because it changed the country and made it more industrialized and put it in better shape. through out this whole time when the soviet union was here there were many battles becasue there were still different parties in russia that did not agree with the soviet union and wanted a say in the government.

    Lenin played a huge role in taking over the provisional government and changing russia to a communist party. even when lenin got into power there was still battles going on because people did not agree with what he was doing. when he died it was a big effect on the country because he was the leader of the soviet union and after his death a man named stalin was trying to take lenins place which wouldn't be good because stalin is not fit for the job in lenins eyes and stalin changes russia overall
