The Decembrist Revolt
The Decembrist Revolt started because of members of the secret revolutionary societies who went against Nicholas I. It had formed when the war of Napoleonic had ended. It happened at Imperial Russia, an amry with about 3,000 soilders protested against the czar. -
Nicholas II becomes Czar
He was eldest son of Tsar Alexander III. Nikolai Aleksandrovich Romanov was Nicholas II real full name. He got into power after his father had died. He spoke of how he wasn't ready to be a leader and that he didn't want it. He had little experience in Government. He married the Princess Alexandra who gave him four daughters and one son who suffered from haemophilia. Nicholas wanted to exand Russia into Manchuria. This angered Japan in 1904. -
Russo-Japanese War
Japan sent a surprise naval attack on Port Authur which was a Russian naval base after Russia rejected Japan's plan to break apart Manchuria and Korea. The naval base fell to Japan and Russian troops were defeated in Shenyang, China. In August 1905, President Theodore Roosevelt help set a peace treaty. -
Bloody Sunday
Bloody Sunday took place in St. Petersburg, Russia. It was when a group of protesters, led by Father Georgy Gapon (They were unarmed) were shot by soilders of the Imperial Guard. It was a protest for the Russian Revolution of 1905 and how it had a rather voilent effect. It was known as Bloody Sunday, because it happened on a Sunday and ened up killing many, many people. -
World War 1
World War 1 had a huge impact on Russia. Russia came in with the largest army that any nation had. The army was conducted by General Sukhomlinov. But after Masurian Lakes and Tannenburg disaters ended up only weakening Russia's military system greatly. Between the numbers of 900,000 and 2,500,000 were lost for Russia. -
March Revolution
The March Revolution was also known as the Russian Revolution. The Revolution was many revolutions throughout the time. This was all in an effort to break down the Tsarist autocracy. -
Czar Nicholas II abdicated from the Throne
Czar Nicholas II had to abdicate from the thone. His family and himself were forced to Czarskoye Selo palacethen to Yekaterinburg palace. In 1918, forces made the Yekaterinburg Soviet fear Nicholas might be rescused. After meeting, the family of Nicholas, his wife, his children and several of their servants were murdered in cold blood on July 16th -
Russian Civil War
The war was between the anti-Bolsheviks and Bolsheviks.Czech Legion was the cause for the Civil War to start. This group was Czech prisoners of war who took control of the Trans-Siberian Railway and attack Moscow. -
The USSR is created
USSR stands for Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. It included Russia, Belorussia, Ukraine, and the Transcaucasian Federation were all part of the Soviet Republics. Soon it grew into the worlds most powerful states that soon fell into 15 republics. The country was based off of Marxist socialism and was the first in the world. However, in 1991, the Soviet Union fell apart on itself. -
Vladmir Lenin Death
Lenin died from a Neurosyphilis which is a stroke. He was the Russian communist theorist. His death is still a mystery to doctors
