    Czar Alexander II Emancipates the Serfs
    In 1861 Serfdom, the system which tied the Russian peasants to their landlords, was abolished at the Tsars command. Four years later, slavery in the USA was declared illeagal by the presidant. Tsar Alexander II shared the news with his father. Serfs in Russia were like the slaves in the USA, but serfs own land, but have to stay on the land and work. This also included the power to deny the serf the right to move elsewhere.

    Nicholas II becomes czar of Russia
    He ruled on November 1 to March 15 1917 when he was abdicated. His region went from being one of the greates powers in the world to the economic military collapse. People renamed him Nicholas the Bloody because of Khodynka Tragedy. Also, he was part of Bloody Sunday of the Russian Revolution in 1905. People were not a fan of him.

    The Social-Democratic Labor Party splits into two groups, Mensheviks and Bolsheviks
    The second congress party met in Brussels to attempt to attempt to create an untied force. However, the congress had to move to London for there meeting on August 11 in a chapel in Tottenham Court Road. At the congress, the party split into two groups on November 17. The groups were called the Mensheviks and the Bolsheviks. The Mensheviks were a larger group.

    This war was the first great war in the 20th century. It started with the Russian Empire and the Japan Empire fighting over Manchuria and Korea. Japan won a series of victories over Russia, who underestimated the military.

    Bloody Sunday is the name given to the events that happend on January 22 in Saint Petersburg, Russia. There were unarmed soldiers led by Father Georgy Gapon. They were fired at by soldiers of the Imperial Guard as they marched towards the Winter Palace. This was how Bloody Sunday occured because this event happened on a Sunday.

    The Russian Revolution was sparked off by a protest on January 22nd. This protest made a turning move on Nicholas II relationship with his people. Led by a Orthodox priest, Father Gapon, 150,000 people took on the harsh weather in the Saint Petersburg streets to protest about there lifestyles. They clearly showed that they wanted Nicholas to help them.

    When World War 1 began, Russia started to rally on Nicholas II. Military disasters at the Masurian Lakes and Tannenburg weakened the Russian army through phases of the war. Romanovs who had ruled Russia over 300 years were no longer in charge, it had been taken over by Kerensky and the Provisonal Government. By the end of 1917, the Bolsheviks led by Lenin had taken power in the majority of the cities in Russia and introduced communist rules.

    It began in Saint Petersberg. It was primarley trigered by shortages of food in the city. When the strikes and riots began, It did not threaten the Russian Monarchy headed by Czar Nicholas II.

    In May 1894, Czar Nicholas II was crowned King. He wasn't trained nor inclined to rule. Other than that, on March 15, 1917 King Nicholas was forced to leave the thrown. His family was forced to move to a different area. Nick took his family to Yekaterinburg near Toykyo. The Soviets were scared that Nick would be rescued so they held a secret meeting with his family and killedd them the night of July 16.

    Vladimir Lenin and the Bolsheviks capture the Winter Palace
    Vladimir Lenin returned to Russia in 1917 to join the Russian Revolution while writing his April Theses for the Bolsheviks party. He led the October Revolution becoming the leader of the Bolsheviks leader in the government. Lenin then began moving the crown. He then came up with the 'Red Terror'. Later he had a series of strokes and died in 1917.

    The Russian Provisonal Government was a Russian Republic of Czar Nicholas II. On September 16, the countrys legislature was offically dissolved by the newely created Directorate and the country was officcally declared the Russian Republic.

    This war was a multi-party war in the former Russian Empire fought between the Bolshevik red and white army. Many different armies fought against the red army. The red army deafted the white armed forces of South Russia in Ukraine and the army led by Alexsandr Kolchakin Siberia in 1919.

    Nicholas II and his family are executed
    Czar Nicholas was abdocated from his thrown and his family and him were kept in a prsion near Saint Petersburg. They could hear gun shots between the white army and red army. On July 17th in the early morning, Nicholas, his wife, children and servants were herded into a cellar of there prison house and were killed.

    Vladimir Lenin dies and Josef Stalin becomes leader of the Soviet Union
    In 1912, Lenin appointed Joseph Stalin to serve on the first Central Committee of the Bolshevik Party. Three years later, in November of 1917, the Bolsheviks seized power in Russia. The Soviet Union was then founded in 1922, with Lenin as its first leader. in 1922 Stalin became secretary general of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, After Lenin died in 1924, Stalin won the power to control the Communist Party.
