Romeo sees Juliet across the room, delivering a speech about her beauty. -
Tybalt Notices Romeo
Tybalt notices Romeo at the party, commanding his servant to fetch his sword so that he may kill Romeo. -
Lord Capulet Chastises Tybalt
Lord Capulet calls Tybalt out, saying that he is impulsive and that Lord Capulet's word is law in the household. Tybalt wilfully suppresses his rage, vowing that he will kill Romeo in time. -
Romeo and Juliet Meet
Romeo meets Juliet and it is love at first sight. He compares her to a saint, winning her over with his words. They kiss, but are interrupted by the Nurse. -
Juliet Talks with Nurse
Juliet is summoned by the nurse to speak with her mother, Romeo learns that she is Capulet's daughter. Later, Juliet asks about the guests to find out their identities, and discovers that her love is a Montague, her sworn enemy.
