    Iv - Capulet party, Rome and Juliet meet.

    IIIi- Romeo goes back to talk to Juliet. Famous balcony scene
    “Three words, dear Romeo, and good night indeed.
    If that thy bent of love be honorable,
    Thy purpose marriage, send me word tomorrow”
    “What o’clock tomorrow
    Shall I send to thee?
    By the hour of nine.”

    IIiii- Romeo meets with Friar Laurence to discuss marriage plans
    “In one respect I’ll thy assistant be;
    For this alliance may so happy prove
    To turn your households’ rancor to pure love”

    IIiv- The nurse meets with Romeo to learn of the wedding plans.
    “Romeo. Bid her devise
    Some means to come to shrift this afternoon;
    And there she shall at Friar Laurence’ cell
    Be shrived and married.”

    IIiv- Romeo and Juliet are married.

    Monday late afternoon

    IIIi- Tybalt looks for Romeo. Mercutio is killed, Romeo kills Tybalt. Romeo is banished.

    IIIiv- Capulet decides Paris should marry Juliet this Thursday.
    Capulet. “But, soft! what day is this?
    Paris. Monday, my lord.
    Capulet. Monday! ha, ha! Well, Wednesday is too soon.
    A Thursday let it be—a Thursday, tell her,
    She shall be married to this noble earl.”

    Off-stage. Romeo and Juliet’s honeymoon night.

    IIIv- Romeo leaves Juliet, heads to Mantua. Juliet then learns of her upcoming marriage to Paris on Thursday.
    “Lady Capulet. Marry, my child, early next Thursday morn
    The gallant, young, and noble gentleman,
    The County Paris, at Saint Peter’s Church,
    Shall happily make thee there a joyful bride.”

    Tuesday late am

    IVi-Juliet goes to Friar Laurence for help, and receives the sleeping potion with instructions.
    “Friar Laurence. Hold, then. Go home, be merry, give consent
    To marry Paris. Wednesday is tomorrow.
    Tomorrow night look that thou lie alone:
    Let not the nurse lie with thee in thy chamber.
    Take thou this vial, being then in bed,
    And this distilled liquor drink thou off;” She will sleep for 42 hours.
    “Thou shalt continue two-and-forty hours,
    And then awake as from a pleasant sleep.”

    IVii- NEW wedding date. Instead of getting married on Thursday, Capulet decides to make it tomorrow, which is Wednesday.
    “Lady Capulet. No, not till Thursday. There is time enough.
    Capulet. Go, nurse, go with her. We’ll to church tomorrow.”

    IViii- instead of taking the sleeping potion on Wednesday night as the Friar instructed, she must now take it Tuesday night to avoid the Wednesday marriage.
    SHE WILL SLEEP FOR 42 HOURS.
    “Romeo, I come! this do I drink to thee.
    [She drinks and falls upon her bed within the curtains.]”

    IVii- Juliet’s “dead” body is discovered.
    Off stage- Juliet’s funeral, instead of wedding, occurs.

    Thursday 3 pm

    Vii- Friar Laurence realizes his letter was not delivered to Juliet. He will go to the Capulet monument to get her. She will awaken in 3 hours.
    “Friar Laurence. Now must I to the monument alone.
    Within this three hours will fair Juliet wake.
    She will beshrew me much that Romeo
    Hath had no notice of these accidents;
    But I will write again to Mantua,
    And keep her at my cell till Romeo come—
    Poor living corse, closed in a dead man’s tomb!”

    Viii- Juliet awakens and discovers Romeo is dead. She kills herself.
    All is revealed to the entire Verona community.
