In 306 C.E. Constantine became emperor of Rome. During his rule he issued the Edict of Milan, which allowed Christian worship. Converting the empire the Christianity, Constantine united the Roman Empire. Also moved the capital of the Roman Empire to Byzantium and called it Nova Roma, but the Romans called it Constantinople. Constantine died on 337 C.E. -

Diocletian Becomes Emperor
In 284 C.E Diocletian became Emperor. He Made the goverment more efficient, defended borders, and expanded the Roman Empire. Also appointed a Co Emperor Maximian, and two junior emperors under himself and Maximian. In 305 C.E. Diocletian abdicated his throne, leaving no successor. -
Commodus Becomes emperor
In 180 C.E. Commodus becomes emperor. He was a bad emperor and was much more satisfied with social aspect and throwing parties. In 192 C.E. Commodus was assassinated.
