    In May 1789, Robespierre was elected to represent the Third Estate in the Estates General. He represents all men. That includes poor men and slaves.

    Robespierre gained power. Him and his followers want to wipe away anything that is left of the old France. They made this their goal
  • The Beginning of the Reign of Terror

    The Beginning of the Reign of Terror
    Robespierre becomes leader of the Committee of Safety Public. For the next year Robespierre is the unofficial dictator of France. Their goal was to protect the Revolution from their enemies. This period is known as Reign of Terror.

    The French created another new government. This is their third one since 1789. This new government put the power in the hands of the upper middle class. It called for a two house legislature and an executive body. They also found the right person to lead France's army, Napoleon Bonaparte.
